Forgiveness is the key to freedom. If there is something or someone holding you back, perhaps it is time to "FORGIVE" and move on. I know it is easier said then done. I know personally it has been a struggle for me from time to time especially when it comes to my family that I grew up in.
I have a father who was very abusive physically and mentally. It helps me now to talk about it but, I know its hard to forgive when old memories come up from time to time. The sad thing is when you want to change the other person it never works, the person never takes blame or admits to their wrongs.
I have to tell myself to forgive and let go and Let GOD on a constant basis. Like I said it is never easy but, you have to make a effort if you want your life to improve.
When you forgive someone it HELPS YOU and HEALS YOU from the inside out. As hard as it might be to do this you must for your own sake and well being ,life is a process of learning, living and forgiving...... and when things are out of our control we must also learn to "Let Go"
yes , I need forgiveness from someone I caused so much frustrations in his life but it seems hard for him to forgive. How I wish he can extend forgiveness to me even via email or a text message.

Thanks for this wonderful article on forgiveness. I think old traumas stay with us because at some level we are indeed waiting for that person (or some new person) to “fix” what happened. To compensate us, to make us feel okay again or (as you mention) to apologize. But I don’t think our healing truly begins until “we” start supplying this fix. So if someone did something (or failed to do something) long ago, and this left us feeling that we are unworthy (or unattractive or unsafe or unpowerful), it is we who must begin to correct this very mistaken belief. In fact, it’s not so much the wound, but this wounded “belief” that continues to haunt us. And it’s not the past, but this very present self-judgment – this ongoing SELF-wounding – that we must heal and release. Thanks again!
